As one of approximately 50 Microsoft NTO’s worldwide, Brett is responsible for communicating Microsoft’s privacy, security, online safety, standards, accessibility and interoperability initiatives and showcasing how Microsoft’s software can help solve some of the problems facing businesses and government today.
He started his career in 1980 as an avionics engineer for Air New Zealand and later became a programmer and IT sales manager before joining Microsoft NZ in 1997 as OEM Director.
A self-described ‘techoptimist’, Brett is deeply interested in the impact technology is having on people and society and he has a strong belief in the ‘magic of software’ and the potential it offers for improving productivity and helping build and grow a vibrant local IT industry.
